Dental Crowns in Boynton Beach
Crowns can be used in many different ways, such as to align crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth or lighten individual tooth color. The strength and appearance of our porcelain crowns are very similar to natural teeth, and they are used to make long-lasting changes to the patient's smile.
Porcelain crowns are generally used to restore severely broken teeth or to cover a single dark tooth, and also are typically part of an overall smile make-over. At Cosmetic Dentist Boynton Beach, our smile-rejuvenation process starts with a consultation, where we find out what the patients does not like about their teeth, and what type of smile they would like to have ideally. We use the help of digital technology to design the patient's smile-improvement procedure and to fine-tune the desired tooth shapes and color to the patient's wishes.
When the patient is ready to proceed with the treatment, our doctors create a 3-dimensional preview model. Our ceramist then uses a computer-aided design program to create this 3-D model of the smile, so that it can be checked from all angles for aesthetics and function.
We then fit the porcelain crowns to the teeth according to a planned procedure consisting of two treatment appointments. During the first appointment, any segmented or broken teeth are built-up and prepared for the crowns. This process involves trimming back a thin layer from around the tooth to make room for the crown. Impressions are then taken and temporary crowns are made using a template created from the 3-D model. This is an important step, because it gives an opportunity to our patients to try the planned design in their own mouth before the crowns are made. Any changes or fine adjustments can be made to the temporaries and reproduced in the final crowns.
All of these treatments are performed using our pain-free anesthetic techniques
We fit the porcelain crowns during the second appointment in our office. The crowns are fitted to the teeth using a multi-layer bonding system that bonds each crown its tooth with unparalleled strength. The crowns are then polished and bite-checked, and finally revealed to our patients. We also conduct a quick check-up appointment with our patients a few days later to make sure all is well after they've had some time to use and eat with the crowns. During the check-up appointment, we also take "after" photos for our patients to take home with them.
When it's time for a new dental crown, many people want strong, esthetic restorations that look natural and don't break. Full-cast gold crowns & bridges are strong, but don't look at all like real teeth; porcelain metal restorations look better, but are prone to chipping and cracking.
BruxZir Solid Zirconia is made from nearly indestructible zirconia, making it ideal for those who have broken their natural teeth or porcelain restorations through bruxing or grinding. And when compared side-by-side to full-cast gold and porcelain metal crowns, BruxZir zirconia crowns are the most natural-looking choice.
Using only the best in dental crowns. The BruxZir ® Solid Zirconia is the # 1 prescribed brand of full-contour zirconia in North America. Providing a stronger and more durable cementable solution, BruxZir restorations can be used in almost any clinical situation and are an esthetic alternative to cast gold and metal occlusal PFMs.
Designed and milled using CAD/CAM technology, BruxZir Solid Zirconia is sintered for 2.0 hours at 1,530 degrees Celsius to achieve optimum strength. The final BruxZir crown or bridge is then glazed to a smooth surface.
